A successful entrepreneur, a politician and an environmentalist, Vladimir “Von” Valdepenas plans to change his business angle and aims to “go green.”
Von Valdepenas owns V1 Bus Line Corporation, which consists
of 15 public utility bus lines running throughout Metro Manila via EDSA. He is
also exposed to using technology in his business as he owns four IT companies
including a call center, software and web development, medical transcription,
hospital management and management information systems. He manages his
companies carefully in order to avoid traps that would lead to over financing,
labor problems and leadership issues. He believes that with humility and the
right partnerships, the existing business he has can grow exponentially.
At present, he is part owner of Summit Technologies
Incorporated which serves as a healthcare information management company providing
various services. The main business of the company, which is medical
transcription, focuses on all areas of medicine. Another company he co-founded
is Baseline Unlimited Inc. It services its clienteles through reputation
management and online marketing that helps their popularity and visibility in internet
search results by means of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Services under SEO
include producing positive articles about the client, managing their blog and website
contents, and countering comments and posts on forums and social media sites
that would jeopardize the client’s reputation. The company also provides
management consultancy that aids other organizations, in terms of management
and organization, through helping them boost their performance. Some of the
services it offers are development of coaching skills, technology
implementation, strategy development and operational improvement services.
Von Valdepenas served Los Banos, Laguna as a municipal
councilor where he supported campaigns that helped save the environment and
guide the youth. The successful entrepreneur shows selflessness through devoting
himself in helping the public by his volunteer works with Home for the Angels,
Gawad Kalinga and Junior Chamber International. In addition, he helped Pro-Life
rallies against the RH bill. His
flagship programs include assisting the youth affairs of the municipality
through anti-drug campaigns, sports programs, job fairs and trainings and
seminars for the youth.
Not only does he fight for youth development, but Von
Valdepenas has also always been concerned of the country’s environment. He
established an eco-waste processing center that would help with solid waste
management and encouraged recycling of plastic waste. He was a part of the
preparation and approval of the plastic ban in Los Banos Laguna with
Vice-Governor Caesar Perez. They were
able to start plastics ban, no smoking city ordinance and the full
implementation of Republic Act 9007.
